Sports Massage

This style of massage works specifically on problems resulting from athletic performance, training, and injury. It uses techniques similar to those of Swedish and deep-tissue massages but the focus is on minimizing fatigue, soreness and cleansing tissues to shorten recuperation time.

Myofascial Release

A form of soft tissue therapy used to treat somatic dysfunction, pain, and restriction of motion. By applying gentle sustained pressure into the myofascial connective tissue restrictions it relaxes contracted muscles and eliminates pain.

Rehabilitation Massage

A combination of massage techniques used specifically to speed recovery after surgery or injury.

Neuromuscular Therapy

This form of massage is used to relieve pain, stimulate circulation, and loosen trigger points. It focuses on individual muscles rather than muscle groups and uses deep pressure.

Trigger Point Therapy

This type of bodywork utilizes ischemic compression of individual areas of hypersensitivity in muscles, ligaments, tendons and fascia. Trigger Points are hypersensitive nerve bundles that can cause pain and discomfort to a larger area.

Orthopedic Massage

This approach to massage focuses on the body as a comprehensive system and addresses dysfunctions accordingly.

Thai Bodywork

Thai bodywork is similar to assisted yoga because of its emphasis on opening and stretching the body. It is traditionally done on a mat on the floor where the practitioner, remaining focused on their own center, guides the recipient through various yoga poses.

Assisted Stretching

This is table modified Thai bodywork, where Eric guides you through a series of stretches designed to release broad patterns of tension. A short session will leave you feeling taller, lighter, more mobile, and with a greater sense of well-being.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient system of healing designed to encourage and promote the natural self-healing functions of the body. It acheives this by shallow insertion of hair-thin solid needles in different areas of the body.

Nutrition

Diet and nutrition are corner stones of Chinese medicine and are considered stand alone therapies. Ancient Chinese doctors believed "food is medicine". In our practice nutrition is used to further benefit and enhance your ongoing treatment. It is tailored to your lifestyle and health status and is generally a sensible approach to improving health improvement and well-being.

Herbal Therapy

Chinese Herbal medicine is a companion therapy to Acupuncture. It is often used in conjunction with acupuncture to mutually enhance both therapies, and is an excellent and cost effective way of achieving your health and wellness goals.

Moxibustion

Moxibustion is a heat technique that involves using the an herb that is rolled into a cigar-like form, which is lit and held at a safe distance above the skin over an area or acupuncture point. Moxibustion is helpful in strengthening the immune system, treating acute or chronic illness or as a way of maintaining health and promoting longevity.

Gua Sha

Gua Sha is an ancient healing technique that involves scraping on the skin with a special round edged instrument. It aims to clear and promote blood circulation and capillary exchange and restores normal metabolic processes by clearing and reducing toxic load. Gua Sha is used for pain syndromes, fever, upper respiratory and digestive problems and used in many and various acute and chronic disorders.

Cupping

Cupping is an ancient Chinese technique that uses glass or plastic cups to create a suction effect on the skin. This in turn causes tissues to release toxins to the surface of the skin, activates the lymphatic system, clear veins, arteries and capillaries, clear stretch marks and improve varicose veins. It can also help pain and tightness and can be a method of relaxation.
